The ‘events’ function enables users to advertise events, identify lists of invitees, send invitations and manage responses. Additionally, hosts have the ability to control the level of privacy around the event, to load up presentations and to send reminders to all invitees. All events feature in the events diary which reduces the likelihood of clashes and congestion within the SRI calendar.
What is Events?
The ‘events’ function enables users to advertise events, identify lists of invitees, send invitations and manage responses.

Who can access Events?
- Browsers: can view a list of events only
- Registered users can: View all events and register for events
- Subscribed members can also: host events, send invitations and load presentations
What is SRI-C's supply-demand matching system?
This is how it works
- Analysts from commission-paying buy-side firms indicate demand by signing up for the event
- When we reach six attendees, we'll go out to find supply from the sell-side
- Brokers that wish to host the event should contact Mike Tyrrell. (The right to host will be allocated on a first-come-first-served basis.)
- If >6 buy=side analysts sign up to attend and 1 broker signs up to host, the event will go ahead; If they don’t; it won’t. Simple!
How to create an event via the Events function
The events function enables SRI-CONNECT subscribers to manage all aspects of an event: invitations, tags to advertise it to interested parties, management of acceptances, messages to attendees etc.

How to advertise an event via Market Buzz
First, please note that you can either manage whole events from invitation to feedback via SRI-CONNECT's Events function - see here for FAQs on Events
If you wish simply to notify the SRI community of an event that you are hosting you can either use the quick buzz or full buzz function:
- A quick buzz - which contains title and link to your event / registration page.
- A full buzz - which can also contain an overview of the event, contact details etc.
How to post an event via 'quick buzz'
It's easy:
- Log-in
- Go to Buzz - my interests
- In the 'Buzz box' at the top of the page, type the event title in the format "Author: Title"
- Click on the 'Add a link' link to open up a field for the link title & the weblink
- Enter these & click on the 'Attach' button
- Click on the 'Share' button
- When the tagging dialogue box comes up, select which Sectors, Sustainability issues, SRI interests & Companies the event FOCUSES ON (NB: do not over-use tags, esp. do not tag all sectors or all issues)
- Also, in the tagging dialogue box, select your organisation in the Authors tab
- Click on the 'Save' button
...and that's it! The report will now be shared with anyone in the global SRI community who is interested in the subject matter of your report. Hooray!
