SRI-CONNECT uses your personal information to:

  • Enhance your usage of SRI-CONNECT
  • Display a profile of you to other site users

Enhancing site usage

SRI-CONNECT uses the personal information you supply to customise the information that you receive through Market Buzz filters to match your specific requirements and interests and to keep you informed of the activity of your ‘Connections’.

Profiles

SRI-CONNECT presents personal information within two types of individual profiles:

  • Registered profiles
  • Placeholder profiles

Registered profiles and viewing restrictions

Registered profiles are the profiles created by individual users when they register with us. These are shown in three formats:

  • ‘Maxi-profiles’ – which contain all of the profile information provided by the user (i.e. the Basic Information, Contact Information and Interests Information) – these are only displayed to subscribed members
  • ‘Midi-profiles’ which show Basic Information, Contact Information and some Interests Information – these are only displayed to registered users
  • Mini-profiles – which contain your name, role and the identity of your employer – these are only displayed to unregistered site browsers

In general terms, the SRI-CONNECT site is provided to facilitate the sharing of information between members of the SRI industry; you should therefore be aware that any information contributed could potentially be made freely available to anyone within the SRI community who is or subsequently becomes a subscribed member of the site.

Placeholder profiles

'Placeholder profiles' identify individual SRI market participants and the organisations for which they work; they are included on SRI-CONNECT to give a complete picture of the SRI market and each organisation's SRI-related capabilities.

The profiles are created by the SRI-CONNECT Editor and show Basic Information only, gathered from publicly available information (such as public records, websites and index information) or from the SRI-CONNECT team’s knowledge of SRI industry participants and organisations. In either case, the information collected is used to form placeholder profiles only where it is believed, in good faith, still to be applicable.

‘Placeholder profiles’ do not contain Contact, Personal or Interests Information and they do not provide any mechanism for obtaining this.

Users may take control of editing rights over their placeholder profile by registering with the site (at that point, their registered profile replaces their placeholder profile).

Supply of personal information to Third Parties

SRI-CONNECT does not rent, sell, or otherwise provide to third parties any personal information that you provide to us (whether for marketing purposes or otherwise) except as required to carry out your instructions or to provide services to you (for example, when processing credit card payments or storing data on our servers).

We may however provide aggregated anonymous data about your usage of the Services we provide to Third Parties (organisations and individuals that have not been accepted as registered users of the SRI-CONNECT site, including prospective advertisers) for any purposes we deem, in our sole discretion, to be appropriate.

We also reserve the right to share your information in the following specific circumstances:

  • If compelled by law – for example, where we believe in good faith that disclosure is required to investigate, prevent or take action regarding suspected or actual illegal activities or to assist government enforcement agencies;
  • As necessary to enforce the Conditions set out in this document – for example, to investigate and defend ourselves against any third party claims or allegations;
  • To protect the rights, property, or personal safety of SRI-CONNECT, its Users, and the public, or to protect the security or integrity of our site; or
  • In connection with the reorganisation or sale of SRI-CONNECT’s assets.

Your email address

Your email address will never be made available to other individuals or organisations apart from where you specifically authorise us to do so.

Currently, the only circumstance under which you will be invited to do so is when you recommend the site to your colleagues and contacts – see “Communications from SRI-CONNECT”).
