Investors are interested in the content of the report, not the format.  Accordingly, they rarely have strong preferences between web-based reports and printed versions.

However, where web-reporting is used, the following principles should be applied:

  • Reporting must still occur at a regular and fixed point in time so that investors have visibility on the process and to demonstrate that an underlying management discipline operates within the company
  • A printable (.pdf format) summary containing key objectives, targets and performance data should be provided (for investors to read in the taxi on the way to their meeting with you!)

...and, as a general rule, the fewer pictures the better!
